Our experience includes the preparation of natural heritage studies and natural heritage policies for municipalities. We have extensive experience in preparing official plan policy for natural heritage systems that respond to, and meet, today's challenges. We also know how to effectively implement those policies in up-to-date zoning, community planning permit by-laws, and development agreements.
We assisted in the preparation of the Best Practices Manual for Municipal Natural Heritage Systems Planning, Ontario Nature's guide to municipalities for the preparation of comprehensive and robust natural heritage policies that have been tried and tested through approved municipal official plans. We also assisted Ontario Nature in the preparation of Wise Practices for Wetland Offsetting, a tool to provide the most current information in wetland conservation and compensation measures.
We also completed an assessment of the effectiveness of the Canadian Wildlife Services How Much Habitat is Enough? guidelines in a project to better inform municipalities and conservation authorities of this valuable natural heritage planning tool.
